Michael Baxter
Michael Baxter is the Artistic Associate of The Muny. Over the years he has served The Muny in a variety of capacities including performer, choreographer, educator and now producer. In 2012, he was designated Resident Choreographer, a position created for him, overseeing the creative evolution of the Muny Teen Program for eight seasons and collaborating with creative teams of more than 55 different productions. He currently serves as the Co-Artistic Director of the Muny Kids and Teens and acts as the primary representative of The Muny’s partnership with The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University.
Baxter has had a varied career as a performer, director, and choreographer, having worked in theaters all across the country. His work has been seen on national tours, off-Broadway and at acclaimed regional theatres such as The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Bucks County Playhouse, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis,Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre and the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre.
Outside of his theatrical career, Michael enjoys being in the classroom and values the importance of a strong and well-rounded education for aspiring artists. He feels honored to have appeared on the guest faculty of The Growing Studio, Broadway Theatre Connection, StudentsLive-Passport to Broadway, Wright State University (The Musical Theatre Initiative), AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) and College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) – University of Cincinnati.
Michael is a graduate of The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University where he now serves as an adjunct faculty member, choreographer and guest artist/lecturer.
